(More customer reviews)I built this same house back in the 1970s, so was pleased and surprised to find the same book recently. It is wonderful at showing step by step blueprint plans for cutting out the pieces, then each step in photos for putting the pieces together -- although some photos show details that do not exist on the house, such as roof dormers. Both sides of the house swing open, although one side with a porch is very heavy so the hinges have to be beefed up. The room arrangement and accessibility are great. The plans, however, show assembly without any finishing touches, and many other steps are left out leaving you to figure the best way to accomplish them. There is no information on building stairs, or any of the other details shown in the picture on the cover. If you assemble the house as shown it will be nearly impossible to get inside to do any finish work. I have had to do a lot of finish work on structural pieces before I assemble them. Many of the angles for porch, roof etc. are greater than 45 degrees (limit of a table saw), so hard to fashion. This is no amateur project if done right. I have spent about $500 on wood, other building materials, and accessories (furniture, etc) for the house, and have been building on it for several months. But if finished as shown on the cover, you (and I) will have a real treasure.
