(More customer reviews)April's Calendar Mystery is a wonderful book. The initial mystery is who left the four friends plastic eggs with notes in them while they were having a sleep over. The notes lead the children on an easter egg hunt through the park. The children easily identify who left the eggs, but the second mystery is about to be unveiled. The children have to use a lot of thinking as to where to look, how to be safe around the animals at the park and how to safely fix a problem they stumble upon. I know I'm not being all to specific, but the fun of the book is watching the multiple mysteries unfold.
I personally was underwhelmed at first thinking I know this is a children's book, but at least make the mystery a little harder to figure out. That is, until I read on and realized the twists and turns the book would take. It was a wonderful adventure for the children and it teaches lessons along the way! I would recommend the series to any young reader who likes a good mystery. Read it with them and see who can figure it out first!
