(More customer reviews)Ernest Flagg was no doubt a genious. I work in construction and recently was at a house built using Flaggs methods. You don't have to agree with his building techniques to enjoy the book. You will come away with ideas of construction that never entered your mind before reading this book. And as a bonus, the book comes with many very good floor plans that would be usable today. Worth every penny you pay!!!

Although most famous for his skyscrapers, New York architect Ernest Flagg was also a strident proponent of the well-designed single-family dwelling. As illustrated by this classic treatise, he devised a variety of structural economies and innovations that offer savings of space, materials, and cost. 526 illustrations.
